In recent years, the pursuit of well-being has ceased to be a purely aesthetic matter and has come to guide decisions that are at the heart of how the home is conceived. CASACOR Bahia 2026 captures this movement: under the theme "Mind and Heart" and installed at Casa Nossa Senhora das Mercês, one of the oldest buildings in Salvador, the exhibition presents projects that take well-being as a design principle. Check out some highlights below.

Routine as the foundation of well-being

In Loft Wellness - A Rotina do Agora, architect Nath Veloso occupies 100 square meters to defend a simple thesis: well-being is built through daily repetition, not through exceptional moments. The space is organized along two axes — body and inner life — separated by a wall that already existed in the property. The path begins with a decompression zone right at the entrance, designed so that visitors let go of the urban pace as soon as they arrive, continues through the kitchen, treated as a space for nourishment and gatherings, and reaches the bedroom, dedicated to regeneration. In the half of the loft where windows provide natural light, bathroom, spa and closet form the pause zone, alongside an activation corner with a platform for yoga, a bicycle and a natural green wall.

The materiality contradicts a common cliché in the industry: instead of the light palette that usually accompanies the idea of well-being, Nath chose dark-toned wood. The architect starts from the observation that a wellness space doesn't need to be light, and argues that the darker tone offers rest to the eyes and greater grounding to the space. Brightness comes from natural light, distributed through a hollow wooden mashrabiya designed to also illuminate the bedroom. Stone appears in the Alpino Green marble, which fully covers the ofuro and returns on the kitchen island countertop, while the original ceiling of the former convent was preserved. The art is by Lucas Néder, a Bahia-born artist based in São Paulo, who created the unprecedented collection "As Curas da Bahia" for the space, with portraits of Irmã Dulce and Jorge Amado, in addition to a set dedicated to the Bay of All Saints.

Care, neuroarchitecture and longevity

If Nath starts from routine, Milena Saraiva starts from care. In 50 square meters, CasaCura - Qualivida arrives as the first regenerative loft of CASACOR Bahia, designed for longevity and for home care whenever it becomes necessary. For the architect, health at home is something greater than treatment: it has to do with allowing people to remain where life happens. The project is based on neuroarchitecture — the idea that the space directly influences the physical and emotional states of those who occupy it. At the entrance, a sign asks visitors to pause for ten seconds and observe how the body responds to the space.

Every material was chosen based on a criterion that goes beyond appearance. The natural stone flooring offers thermal stability and a grounding sensation underfoot; the curved-shaped furniture follows fractal patterns found in nature, geometries that the brain recognizes as harmonic and associates with relaxation. Biophilia was thought out species by species — from the olive tree, linked to longevity, to the clusia, associated with kindness. At the center of the loft, a wall made of exposed blocks from the convent's original construction was preserved with its marks, interpreted by the project as a metaphor for aging as an accumulation of history. Lighting follows the circadian rhythm throughout the day, the soundtrack is organized around a specific frequency, and the olfactory repertoire brings together lavender, bergamot, jasmine, and cedar.

Care also appears as an experience: a tray named "Wellness Alchemy" brings together botanical teas and immunity shots, and a small table offers blood pressure and oxygenation measurements with qualified professionals. Medical technology is present, but tucked away — custom cabinetry houses the equipment, and an old china cabinet has been turned into a small pharmacy with supplies organized in acrylic boxes. In Milena's reading, technology should not invade the home, but rather protect and care for it in a discreet way, almost invisibly. Art reinforces the connection with the territory, featuring works by Mario Cravo Jr., Bel Borba, Inês Matta, and Jenner Augusto.

Water, healing, and well-being as a shopping experience

This same reading reappears in two other projects of the edition. In the Deca Space, Waters that Soothe, architect Gabriel Magalhães occupies 120 square meters in a contemporary dwelling that places water at the center of the project, associating the element with spiritual healing and the inner reconnection of those who inhabit the space — and bringing the bath to the heart of the rest repertoire.

Well-being also extends beyond the home and reaches retail. In Abraço, a space designed by Felipe Cady, of Studio Cady, for the brand Manolo Wellness, the proposal brings the logic of care into a natural products store. Sustainability enters the materiality, with tabletops made of recyclable material produced by Plasticaria, which also manufactured a side table with original design by the architect. The project shows that wellness culture is not limited to the domestic space and also reaches the shopping experience.
