The environment designed by architect Mariana Nogueira relates feminine transformation and the evolution of residential spaces

Architect Mariana Nogueira's proposal for CASACOR Minas Gerais 2017 was to create an intimate environment that would transform women. The idea gave rise to the Dressing Room project, which also reflects the evolution of residential spaces over the last 100 years. The space is marked by several antique pieces. The red carpet, the mirror, objects of affective memory and the lighting create a unique space, a dressing room within the home. The wallpaper, old photos and memories give the closet a retro feel. . 
“In this project, we sought to combine vintage and retro in order to tell the story of the mansion that houses CASACOR , using a contemporary theme as a counterpoint, which is the Dressing Room ,” explains Mariana Nogueira.
The architect states that, in addition to everyday observation, the environment is inspired by her own personal experiences and those of other women in her family, such as her grandmother, mother and daughter. “These are experiences, words, sounds and images that translate feminine diversity and the transformation of women over the years”, he explains.
The project's metal structure supports the textures of the corten steel and wood. The exclusive canvases by visual artist Rogério Fernandes tie together the concept of the space, portraying the essence of contemporary femininity.
