Brazil has once again appeared among the top destinations in global luxury hospitality. In the 2026 edition of La Liste Hotels, eight Brazilian hotels were included in the selection of the thousand best in the world, prepared based on the analysis of 7,300 establishments across more than 200 countries. The ranking uses an algorithm that gathers evaluations from hundreds of specialized guides, international press reviews and industry publications.

Among the national accommodations, the Hotel das Cataratas obtained the highest score: 98.5 points out of a total of 100. Following it are the Fasano Boa Vista, the Copacabana Palace and other hotels recognized for combining architecture, hospitality and a strong connection with the national landscape. The only luxury hotel located inside Iguaçu National Park, the Hotel das Cataratas combines Portuguese colonial-inspired architecture with one of the most well-known natural landscapes in the world. Part of the Belmond chain, the property offers privileged access to the Falls and stands out for the integration between tropical gardens, architectural heritage and the Atlantic Forest.

With 140 rooms and suites, the hotel also has a semi-olympic pool, spa and three renowned restaurants – including two with a Michelin star!

Set within Burle Marx Park, the Palácio Tangará was designed to establish a direct relationship with the surrounding vegetation. Large windows, terraces and outdoor areas are part of the architectural proposal, which favors natural lighting and views of the gardens. The gastronomy stands out for the restaurant signed by chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten.

Facing Ipanema Beach, the Fasano Rio de Janeiro was designed by the French architect Philippe Starck and references Bossa Nova and the spirit of Brazilian design from the 1950s and 1960s. Wood, furniture with organic lines and a rooftop with a pool overlooking the sea help to consolidate the hotel as one of the main design references in the national hospitality industry.
