The largest architecture and decoration exhibition in the Americas gives yet another example of sustainability, this time at CASACOR Bahia . The franchise has partnered with SOLOS, a Bahian startup that works in consulting, management and implementation of the treatment of organic waste and traditional recyclables. , paper, plastic, glass and metal. Therefore, in this year's edition, all waste generated by the gourmet area, exhibitors and visitors to the show will be collected and destined for reuse, through the company's intermediation. The startup’s co-founder Saville Alves explains how this dynamic will work. “We did some work before the event to ensure that the partners would receive the diversity of waste generated, and during the show, we ensured, together with the teams of restaurants, bars and from cleaning to the correct segregation of materials”, he states. “This increases the quality of what is delivered to the cooperative and increases the value of the product”, he adds. Once disposed of correctly, the waste will be separated by the CAEC cooperative - Cooperativa de Catadores Agentes Ecológicos de Canabrava. The organic waste will be used in the biooptimization processes at the Salvador Shopping composting plant, a partner of the event, and dry items such as plastic, paper, glass and aluminum will be sent for recycling. The expectation is to reuse 90 kg of organic waste per day of the event and 45 kg of dry waste. In addition, batteries, light bulbs and batteries will also be collected and disposed of correctly, and cooking oil will be collected to generate liquid detergent and other cleaning products. All these initiatives are in addition to other sustainable actions that mark CASACOR Bahia this year. . With the theme “Planet Home”, the exhibition will take place between October 22nd and December 8th, supported by the pillars of sustainability, technology and affection.
