To help, architect and landscaper Caterina Poli brings spot-on tips for plants that do well in the cold - the famous "winter plants".
According to the specialist, "the species that do best in the cold are those from less tropical climates, generally non-native". This is because the Brazilian winter comes with a period of drought when rains are less abundant.
