What makes an architecture event relevant beyond the days its doors are open? At a time when fairs, design weeks, biennials and interior showcases are no longer just showcases for professionals and brands and have come to occupy a space increasingly closer to culture, this is a discussion that takes on new contours.
It is about this role that Patricia Quentel, director of CASACOR Rio, talks on August 27, during the 4th Rio Interiors Salon. She takes part in the panel "Events that Transform", alongside Lauro Andrade, founder of DW! São Paulo Design Week, and Gabriela de Matos, architect, urbanist, researcher and curator of the São Paulo International Architecture Biennial. The meeting will be moderated by journalist Joana Dale and closes the event's program, dedicated to the theme "Regenerating the Planet".

The discussion finds in Patricia an interlocutor who has followed this transformation from a particular perspective. At the helm of CASACOR Rio for more than 30 years, she has seen interior architecture broaden its boundaries and the sector's events take on new roles — as spaces for encounter, experimentation, building repertoire and dialogue with cultural and social issues.
More than presenting trends, today these gatherings help to bring different agents into contact: architects, designers, artists, brands, researchers and the public. It is precisely in this ability to create connections that Patricia identifies part of the relevance of the sector's initiatives.
"Taking part in an event like the Rio Interiors Salon is an important opportunity to broaden the dialogue with professionals who, like us, reflect on the paths of architecture, design and cities," she states. For her, gatherings like this are also spaces to follow the sector's transformations and think of ways to build a more conscious future connected to people.

The participation takes place at a symbolic moment for CASACOR Rio itself, which in 2026 celebrates 35 years of history. The show reaches its 35th edition in Rio de Janeiro occupying the Aliança da Bahia Building, in a program that proposes new perspectives on the future of living.
