Rosa May Sampaio, one of the country's leading interior designers, with more than 30 years of experience and a solid career in Brazil and abroad, passed away this Tuesday (July 21). At 77, Rosa May accumulated varied references, the result of her degree in Languages from PUC-Rio and in Art History from the École du Louvre, in Paris, in addition to training in Landscaping and Interior Design at Espade, in São Paulo. At CASACOR, Rosa May built one of the show's longest-lasting relationships, having taken part since the very first edition, in 1987.

Over nearly four decades of CASACOR, Rosa May signed 15 projects at the shows, always bringing her signature sensitivity and a keen eye for the transformations of contemporary life. She also worked as a set designer and brought her talent to other important shows in Latin America. In 2022, at the edition celebrating the 35th anniversary of CASACOR São Paulo, she was among the renowned names whose careers are intrinsically linked to the show, alongside professionals such as Sig Bergamin and Consuelo Jorge — a tribute to those who helped build the history of the event. Her last participation took place in 2024, also at CASACOR São Paulo, with the project "Movement, Space, Time", a multifunctional space that combined dining room and office, designed to keep up with the rhythm of modern life — a synthesis of the way Rosa May prioritized balancing functionality and affection in all her projects.

Rosa May Sampaio leaves a legacy of talent and passion for decorating and for living. Internationally recognized — being named among the 80 best decorators in the world, according to the Designer Directory, by Andrew Martin —, she also leaves the mark of someone who, more than designing projects, designed stories and affectionate memories in every space created.

CASACOR bids farewell with gratitude to one of its great references, who spanned generations of the show and always kept up with the changes in society, renewing her outlook with each edition without ever losing the essence that made her recognized and beloved around the world. Rest in peace.
