At Milan Design Week 2018 , Philippe Starck presents the Woody collection for Kartell, demonstrating the possibilities of working with wood and its perfect combination with the Italian furniture brand's traditional plastic. Thanks to a special patent, the wood of the pieces has been machined with a mold that can extend the bending limit of the plate and create the chair frame with sinuous curves.
The collaboration with the French designer first challenged the use of materials in 1988 with the Glob chair, which combines steel and plastic. That year, Philippe Starck also created the Outdoor collection for Kartell, featuring exclusive furniture for the pool area. , which can be seen alongside Woody at the Salone del Mobile , from April 17 to 22.
