CASACOR will hold, on September 23, the 1st Forum on Architecture and Urbanism in Rio de Janeiro, during Rio Art Week. With free registration, the event takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Auditorium of the Gustavo Capanema Palace, in downtown Rio de Janeiro, and brings together industry authorities to discuss the challenges and possibilities of urban transformation in the state capital.
The program will be divided into five panels, which will address topics such as the regeneration of the central region, residential occupancy, the preservation of the city's memory and identity, environmental resilience, and the planning and legislative aspects that influence urban development.
Panel 1 | Regeneration, the challenge of the center
Panel 2 | Living in the center: housing and urban life
Panel 3 | City identity: culture, memory and belonging
Panel 4 | Environmental urbanism: designing for resilience
Panel 5 | Planning and transformation
The debates propose a reflection on the recovery of existing buildings, the residential occupation of the central region and the valuation of cultural references, in addition to the environmental and regulatory challenges related to the city's growth.
The forum has a capacity for 400 people and is open to the public upon prior registration. Students who attend the event will be entitled to a certificate of participation, made available after the forum.
The 1st Forum on Architecture and Urbanism in Rio de Janeiro is organized by CASACOR and Editora Globo, sponsored by Cury and with institutional support from ADEMI RJ.
