From space: Hermès creates watch from meteor fragment
Arceau's new limited edition L'heure de la Lune collection features a dial made from fragments of a meteorite found in New York

In 2019, Hermès released a watch that was extraordinary in more ways than one. Called Arceau L'heure de la Lune (Moon Hour Arc), the watch featured a dial made from meteorite fragments, making it otherworldly. literally! Furthermore, following the space theme, its mechanism is capable of indicating the phases of the Moon, both in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, mechanically.

The watch is different from the norm in that the hour and day indicators rotate around two fixed moons. The phases of the moon are shown by the overlapping circles. This mechanism is called Hermès Manufacture H1837 and is made of 100 components made in Switzerland. .

The small details of the design also stand out. The Moon in the Northern Hemisphere is a realistic representation of the surface of the satellite, while the one in the Southern Hemisphere features a Pegasus designed by designer Dimitri Rybaltchenko. The mythological horse symbolizes a passage between two worlds. Both represent duality. and the mystery of space: fantasy meets science.
