Whether with armchairs or lamps, big names in national design are present at CASACOR Rio, bringing modernity to the show

Paola Ribeiro – Couple’s Room. In the dormitory that housed the former owner of the house for years, the inspiration is feminine – all the works of art are by women. There is a small work space, many shelves that make use of the original cabinets and a privileged view of the gardens. The contemporary furniture (partly designed by Paola in partnership with Maria Cândida Machado) contrasts with the rich architectural details of the residence and helps to create a casual chic style.

There is no shortage of inspiration at this 30th CASACOR Rio . In addition to the Brando Barbosa Residence itself, whose architectural elements are capable of transporting us to another era, the 38 spaces that make up the exhibition are a true architectural spectacle. A classic space deserved a design selection to match. For Living Mutante, architect Gisele Taranto designed flexible and modifiable furniture. This includes the brass ball chairs, an original piece by Lina Bo Bardi.

The very high ceilings of the Small Study Room allowed the trio of Lia, Felipe and Betina Siqueira to plan matching furniture. To achieve this, the books were housed on rotating freijó shelves, aligned geometrically throughout the space.

Not only the shelves, but all the furniture used in the space was created exclusively by Lia Siqueira. The armchairs and chests stand out, creating the perfect environment for reading.

In the Library, Andréa Chicharo took advantage of the original 19th-century architecture and modernized it with contemporary furniture, which favored Brazilian designers. The low sofa by Guilherme Wentz stands out.

With an art gallery feel, the space also features the classic Alta armchair by Oscar Niemeyer, featured in the photo. Furthermore, the Jardim side table, from Jader Almeida's portfolio, brings a modern touch to the composition.

The entrance door to the house, Rodrigo Jorge's Entrance Hall features a classic décor – including graffiti walls and pieces from the 1950s and 1960s. Among them, the timeless Diz armchair, by master Sérgio Rodrigues.

At the foot of the staircase carved in rosewood, the Fardos sofa by Atelier Ricardo Fasanello is positioned, creating a private lounge apart from the composition.

Dormitory that housed the former owner of the house, the Casal Room received part of the authorial portfolio of Paola Ribeiro, the architect who designed the space. This is added to contemporary pieces with straighter lines, such as the Saturday puff.

In the Dining Room and Balcony, Chicô Gouvêa created a space full of Brazilianness. Furniture designed by Chicô is accompanied by Cantu chairs by Sérgio Rodrigues, as well as exclusive indigenous benches.

In the "Contemplation" Art Room, Mario Costa Santos presents a living room and dining room with the classic Windsor chair and the Box sofa, both by Jader Almeida. The composition also includes the timeless Chifruda chair by Sérgio Rodrigues.
