On the wall next to the front door, there is a geometric sculpture by Paulo Otavio that was previously exhibited at the Museu Afro Brasil in São Paulo. On the bookshelf, the books were arranged as if they were at home, reinforcing the personal and emotional character of the space. Above the sofa, there are three photographs from the series Sussurro Sem Som, by Melissa Warwick, which recorded the interiors of houses in the Northeast.

Architecture is political, and the duo Pedro Tessarollo and Jairo Lopes do not shy away from the discussion. In the 2019 edition of CASACOR Santa Catarina | Balneário Camboriú , which runs until August 18, the Sala Cor de Pele of the Klaxon Arquitetura office encouraged a debate on diversity . A conversation that was still silenced or minimized gained space and materiality in this welcoming environment. The inspiration came from the Humanae project, by photographer Angélica Dass, who photographs people and catalogs skin tones. The living room is a democratic place to receive guests and, therefore, everyone should feel comfortable. Affection and comfort come from the careful choice of colors, textures and the care taken in selecting furniture and design pieces. The highlight is the curation photographers, visual artists, ceramicists and other creators from various regions of Brazil. In common, they work with narratives that value differences. Coherence was considered in all elements of this visual discourse.

(Lio Simas)

Architect Pedro Tessarollo and interior designer Jairo Lopes delved into their own emotions and from them emerged personal and aesthetic references that give soul to the project. Knowledge and memories are articulated with politics in this space, whose starting point was the permanence and the deconstruction of the idea of skin color over the years. The criticism is explicit in the predominance of pink, from the walls to the ceiling, in an intentional contrast with elements of more sober tones. They suggest a permanent dialogue in this visual manifesto. From a layout perspective, the room serves the purpose of receiving, relaxing, chatting and gathering. The L-shaped sofa embraces the space and allows people to get closer. The bar is an additional element to add to the space.

Na parede de fundo do bar, o revestimento foi desenvolvido pela ceramista Hideko Honma. O registro de um bailarino em Joinville é do fotógrafo Vinicius de Oliveira. (Lio Simas)
