CASACOR SP Restaurant 2016: A legacy for the Jockey

Bárbara Jalles debuts at CASA COR São Paulo 2016 with a major mission: she was responsible for restoring the restaurant, which will be the only space kept open after the event. "Receiving this invitation was an honor. This is my first CASA COR , a huge challenge," said the architect. The Jockey Restaurant maintained the same structural line as all the other buildings in the club: an architecture with the first lines of rationalism, rustic and simple. It was with this concept in mind that the professional was inspired to create the design for the space, in addition to maintaining the original characteristics and history of the place. "I say that simplicity is always cool. I looked for references in spaces that have a simplicity in materials, lines and design that brings a lot of history and refinement. I say again, it is simplicity that is cool, it is rustic that is chic, which is the face of Jockey. I wanted to translate all of this, not only in CASA COR São Paulo , but in a space that will be maintained, that will be used by the Club's members", he explains. The entrance lounge features pieces by Sergio Rodrigues, which dialogue with other furniture inspirations, such as Scandinavian design chairs and wooden tables with oxidized steel legs. The architect also maintained the general structure of the house, which has 225 m², in addition to the roof, which was renovated, and the carpentry structure. The major changes are in the maximization of the circulation space, which according to the professional "was not well resolved, with problems in relation to ventilation and circulation to the bathrooms". Bárbara Jalles combined the refinement of CASA COR and the usability of the space to create the restoration project for the Jockey Restaurant, which is operated by Badebec . "Those who visit the space will find a pleasant, welcoming and cozy place, not only used as a restaurant, but also as a lounge, waiting area and bar, in addition to being very innovative and at the same time with solid and traditional characteristics", emphasizes the professional.
