What makes us human? What does the intersection between current issues, arts and behaviors indicate in terms of emotions and perceptions for the coming year? The answer comes subtly, in the color
Praça no Inverno , which is Coral's bet for 2020. The conclusion comes from the ColourFutures 2020 study, carried out by Akzo Nobel and involving experts from various areas in different countries.

The global insight of the research is the understanding that human touch can be worked on from affective introspection. The essential is found in calm, clarity, delicacy and fluidity. Exactly what Praça no Inverno expresses, bringing the sensation of lightness and that the environments are open to receive.
“We look for spaces where we can contemplate our future, consider our purpose in the world, places where we connect with friends, family, our environment and nature. Where we can express ourselves and be ourselves,” explains Fernanda Figueiredo, color and communication manager at brand of AkzoNobel's Decorative Paints area in South America.
Versatility in four palettes
The Winter Square is fluid and is situated halfway between green, blue and gray. Its effect changes according to the tones that accompany it, revealing a new and quite democratic neutral. The Winter Square also combines with four palettes that ColourFutures 2020 defined as inspirations, reflecting four behavioral trends:
Caring: People want to care more, take care of their homes, create bonds with others and with nature. The color palette is calming and natural, with an atmosphere of caring.
Fun: the need to create spaces for joyful moments, unexpected experiences and finding pleasure in the real world. The color palette is energizing and playful.
Reconnect: In a digitalized, hectic and often superficial world, the desire for a more contemplative home arises. Soft grays take center stage in a minimalist and calm color palette.
Create: the virtual world also interferes with creativity and the need to express oneself increases. To convey this mood, blocks of stimulating, modern and unconventional colors are used.
