Making cities more friendly for people who travel on four wheels is the goal of parklets, a model for occupying car spaces with small squares, born in California and which has become a trend all over the world.
At CASA COR Minas Gerais 2015 , this intervention in the public space is even more innovative. The first parklet of the Minas Gerais exhibition is different from all the others installed in the city. The space was designed by Amanda Gomes and Rafael Lamounier, from Quadra Estúdio, using a technique normally used for land containment, the gabion. The metal screens and stones give shape to all the elements of the mini-square, except for the bench tops and the flowerbed, which are made of wood.
The environment, in addition to being the materialization of a new way of thinking about the occupation of cities, serves as a meeting point for those who come to the exhibition.
