Wooden panels take center stage in 7 spaces at CASACOR Pernambuco

The Arbor Refuge by architects Paulo Carvalho Selvagem and Luiz Nogueira turns its sustainable solutions into an interactive and sensorial experience. Reforested wood, vegetable fiber tiles and curtains made from recyclable raw materials were chosen to form the basis of the project. The ceiling has a sandblasted wood texture, which reproduces the raw material of North American oak.

A modern home, Rafaella Bitencourt's Loft Morhar features home automation to counter the industrial aesthetic. The paneling in the suite and the kitchen furniture enhances the feeling of spaciousness and reflects the project's contemporary proposal. Of Japanese origin, the ancient wood carbonization technique known as Shou Sugi Ban has gained space in the decor, incorporating an imposing feel.

With the aim of creating a harmonious environment between raw materials and the environment, architects Guilherme Dias and Lívia Paschoal, from the DiP Studio Arquitetura office, brought the concept of self-sustainability to the exhibition. Wood adds warmth to the space, which is noticeable right at the entrance door and in the louvers.

Modern and cool, the Living Room with Gourmet and Wine Cellar by Romero Duarte & Arquitetos presents a new concept of an open, unified and disruptive area for entertaining friends. The wine cellar has a color inspired by the mixture of milk and coffee, breaking away from the ordinary for storing wines. Behind the sofa, the dark panel lends elegance and sobriety to the space.

With a predominance of pastel tones and clean decor, arqMULTI's Espaço Sentir Arauco explores a new way of living and working, bringing familiarity to the home office. Functionality and well-being are the priorities of the space, which relies on wood for strength and durability. The material appears in brises-soleils, mashrabiyas, on the main panel of the living room and even on the ceiling, reinforcing the timelessness of the composition. The bookshelf and furniture have a discreet tone, accompanying the entire space until it blends in with the stone wall in the background.

A welcoming environment that feels like the visitor's own home is what Casa Arquitetura proposes for the Living Room. A stimulus for moments of rest and disconnection, the space features light wood textures, present in a side piece of furniture and in a panel that takes up half the wall. In the entrance hall, a panel brings amplitude and reinforces the lightness of the space.

Café Santa Clara, by architect Sandra Bione, features wood throughout, in a pleasant space that allows for tastings or good conversations. Integrated with nature, the 40m² bring a natural aesthetic to the service area lounge, which welcomes customers with the softness of the pink tone and beige nuances. The table tops were covered in leather, used to create the panels and furniture, in harmony with the tones of the environment.

It is no coincidence that wood panels are always in high demand – versatile, the material adapts to ceiling coverings, furniture and can even be used as decorative sculptures. As an inspiration for the main trends in decoration, architecture and design, CASACOR Pernambuco has 7 spaces where wooden panels are the protagonists. Made with materials from renewable sources, they unfold in creative and sustainable ways. Located in Casarão 17 de Agosto, the 2019 exhibition features 37 environments to feel and experience the house , designed by 66 professionals who took advantage of the building's eclectic neocolonial style to think about their projects, open for visits until November 3.
