“We believe that we were able to showcase a bit of our architecture at
CASA COR Minas 2015 and this award was a positive return on our work. For us, functionality and the use of space are extremely important factors for a good architectural project and, therefore, we are very pleased with this award”, say the debuting architects. Exploring functionality with creativity, the “Gourmet Kitchen” was designed with the aim of creating an environment where the chef can cook while interacting with his guests. “The space was narrow and long. Instead of placing countertops on the ends and moving the circulation to the center, we decided to place a countertop on the side wall and create a central island. We took advantage of the long lines of the space and managed to enhance both the wall, covering it with farmhouse ceramics, as well as the countertops and cabinets, which became the highlight of the space. The hood was built into the plaster ceiling to make the space cleaner, and in the background, we placed a vertical vegetable garden that, in addition to bringing greenery into the kitchen, is very useful for preparing meals,” explain the professionals.
