Gil Cioni and Olegário de Sá are responsible for Gol's newest VIP Lounge at Guarulhos Airport in São Paulo. The GOL Premium Lounge , dedicated to the airline's customers, has 800 m² and is located in the international departures area of Terminal 2.
Inspired by colonial Brazil and guided by cultural expressions, professionals abused and used wood in various items, not only in coverings, but also in furniture.
A rammed earth wall and straw screens divide the different spaces while hydraulic tiles cover the floors and walls.
The furniture is made from wood from the national flora, partly designed by the Sá & Cioni office and also by Brazilian designers, such as Sergio Rodrigues.
For the convenience of those traveling for work or needing to take care of their tasks while waiting for their flight, the home office area has acoustic wallpaper and directional lighting. To add charm to the place, old telephones, which are playful and chic at the same time, and Wi-Fi connection.
One of the highlights is the home theater wall, which is covered in paper that imitates giant rolled-up newspapers, which looks very realistic and catches the attention of anyone passing by.
Finally, the space also offers the airline's customers a view of the aircraft apron, resulting in an environment designed entirely for the well-being, comfort and coziness of those traveling.
