Oscar-nominated films feature spectacular set design

At the 91st Academy Awards – the awards ceremony known as the Oscars – the films nominated for various categories have at least one thing in common: breathtaking set design. From the futuristic African landscapes of Black Panther's Wakanda to the meticulous details of Rome , the neighborhood of Mexico City, learn a little about the setting of the most prestigious feature films of 2019. Black Panther Production designer Hannah Beachler was inspired by Zaha Hadid's architecture, Buckingham Palace and Afrofuturism when creating the fictional world of Wakanda for Marvel's Black Panther.
