CASACOR Peru 2019. Depa de Chicas - Marilú Salcedo. The space was designed for two friends, a veterinarian and a lawyer. The feel is of a casual and interesting mix of original architecture, classic, industrial and rustic elements. The neutral colors of the finishes are highlighted with touches of color in tapestries, objects and works of art present in every corner of this 100 m² space.

CASACOR Peru 2019. La Cocina de la Pesquisadora Culinaria - Claudia Weis. A woman who owns her space and time is the force that drives the project and makes the kitchen go beyond practicality, transforming it into a creative environment. The island combines several functions and the stone comes in a neutral tone, as the walls are covered in various colors.

CASACOR Bahia 2019. Designer's Room – Dinah Lins. Strength, resilience and determination: the space highlights the modern and entrepreneurial feminine soul, in homage to designer Irá Salles. The earthy and orange tones, leather, linen, wood, terracotta and straw materials reflect the characteristics of a modern and sophisticated fashion professional.

CASACOR Bahia 2019. Cravo e Canela Bungalow – Jéssica Araújo. Inspired by Jorge Amado’s character Gabriela, the space contrasts rough, industrial materials with natural greenery. The bedroom and bathroom maintain a strong connection with nature throughout the space. Artist Romilda Patez created this colorful figurative work with soil from the Pernambuco backlands.

CASACOR São Paulo 2019. Contemporary Woman's Studio - Marcela Pepe. Designed with an independent, well-traveled woman in mind, who is interested in art and design, the space has a cozy feel, exploring textures and making use of natural materials such as wood, straw, reeds, linen, kilim and leather.

CASACOR Rio Grande do Norte 2019. Influencer's Loft - Cecília Sales and Flávia Furtado. The inspiration came from a young influencer architect and rising businesswoman. The complete integration of spaces and the black, gray and wood tones stand out, emphasizing the mature and transformative phase of the girl-woman of the persona.

CASACOR Paraná 2019. Home Office of Businesswoman - Taciana Nakalski. Designed for female entrepreneurs, the 36 m² space combines functionality, comfort and technology. Women's production is valued, such as the Linee shelves designed by Taciana Nakalski herself, the armchair by designer Rejane Carvalho Leite, sculptures by artist Lisi Wendel and photos by visual artist Sila Lima.

According to a census conducted by the Brazilian Council of Architecture and Urbanism (CAU), women represent 63% of professionals working in the country. Even though they are the majority, recognition is still scarce – to date, only three women have been awarded a Pritzker, the world's most important architecture award, which has been in existence for 41 years. Iranian-British architect Zara Hadid won the prize in 2004, while the duo Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara, from Grafton Architects, were the big winners in 2020. With this in mind, at CASACOR 2019, 10 female architects dedicated their spaces to female strength and independence. In six squares across Brazil and even at the exhibition in Peru, the projects are portraits of women as understood by women, and bring functionality, a mature outlook and a spirit of leadership.
