Designers venture out and create pieces for children's playful world

Functional, fun and colorful: these are the words that generally sum up a design piece made for children. Many professionals venture into this playful universe, whether for a social cause or for the challenge of creating something different and new. The result is always incredible, pleasing not only the little ones, but also the adults. In celebration of Children's Day , we have selected some design pieces created by renowned designers, who got involved in the fun and created fantastic objects for children!

Molongó, by Marcelo Rosenbaum

OA Gente Transforma is a social project by Marcelo Rosenbaum, who was invited by the Amazonas Sustainable Foundation (FAS) to develop the Molongó action in the Nova Colombia Community. In this great joint effort, designers Bertjan Pot and Paulo Biacchi developed a collection of objects consisting of memory games, three- to nine-piece puzzles, and other toys made from sustainably managed Molongó wood. In this line, fun, design, sustainability, and commitment to human beings come together and prove that partnerships of this type result in great achievements.

Alpina, by Paulo Ferraz

In 2018, the Butzke brand launched its first children's line, designed by the young Curitiba-based designer Paulo Ferraz. Inspired by the furniture he found on a trip to the Alps, Ferraz created the Alpina , a collection consisting of a table, bench with and without backrests. “I was enchanted by the countless picnic tables in the region. Most of them were rustic and improvised, but very functional. That stayed with me,” he explains.

Soft Toys For Education, by IKEA

Launched at Maison & Objet in late 2017, EcoBirdy pieces are made 100% from recycled plastic, which can be recycled again . The brand was created by Vanessa Yuan and Joris Vanbriel and they claim that the technology used for recycling eliminates the need for any type of dye or resin in the design of the furniture. Beyond just the design of the furniture, which has a marble effect, the designers have also created a complete system that starts with raising awareness among children, moves on to recycling old plastic toys and ends with the production of the furniture.

Puppy, by Eero Aarnio

This is one of the design pieces that is always present in CASACOR 's spaces. The Puppy stool, by Finnish designer Eero Aarnio, follows the playful style that is characteristic of the professional. A puppy is a dog that doesn't bark or jump, but that brightens up spaces, in addition to being a piece of furniture for sitting or for children to play.

Shuffle, by Mia Hamborg

Norwegian designer Mia Hamborg knows how to combine color, functionality and fun in all of her creations, which are aimed at children's play. One of her best-known pieces is the modular Shuffle table . The piece can be assembled and disassembled by each element, meaning it can have a different composition every day.
