Five sustainable ideas for your home by Cyrela

Concern for sustainability is present in several spaces created for Casa Cor São Paulo 2015. Check out what can be implemented in your home too 1. Economical lighting Lamps, strips and accessories with LED (Light Emitting Diode) technology save energy and can be used in almost any room in the house. This type of lighting is present in the Container House, by Daniel Kalil and Karinna Buchalla, which also features another sustainable action: thermal and acoustic coating made of PET bottle wool on the plaster ceiling. 2. Wooden floor and ceiling To identify the sustainable touch in Casa 11, designed by interior designer Esther Giobbi, just look up or down: both the floor and ceiling of the compact space – designed for a resident who travels and enjoys art – were made of ecological pine, a material that gives the space a very cozy look.

3. Recyclable furniture The 38 m² studio designed by the architect duo Mayara Clá and Natasha Haddad, from the MN Arquitetura e Interiores office, is filled with recyclable coverings and furniture, such as the cardboard armchairs from 100't located in front of the double bed. Although not made of fine material, the piece combines design, low cost, environmental awareness and durability. 4. More clarity Take advantage of natural light. This is one of the mottos of the Lagom space, by architect Patricia Martinez. To ensure that sunlight reaches rooms that are normally poorly lit, such as hallways, bathrooms and even closets, the professional chose a system of mirrors and natural lighting prisms from Solatube. 5. Trio of good There are three main sustainable ideas applied to Casa do Bosque, designed by Bahian architect David Bastos: a rainwater and solar energy collection system, the use of reforested wood in its structure and the masonry cladding in layers of granite blocks with discarded quarry material.
