For the second year in a row, Patrizia Genoveze and Guilherme Longo signed the
CASACOR São Paulo 2018 Restaurant and, if last year the choice was for light tones and a clean environment, this year the story is very different: dark walls, noble coverings and lots of Play of light marks the 300 m² space operated by the Mondo restaurant. The inspiration came from the luxurious and scenic restaurants of Las Vegas, in the United States.

Based on suggestions from feng shui consultant Katia Gonzalez, the duo chose to use red paint on the walls and ceiling – this solution gives the sensation of a lower ceiling height, making the space more cozy. Boiseries and paintings depicting leaves give volume and sectorize the surfaces.
A floral wallpaper designed by professionals personalizes the largest wall in the establishment and shows the care taken with details: the print is never repeated. Metallic luminaires with glass balls create intimate, dimmable lighting.
The earthy tones do not appear in two exceptions: both the entrance portico and the bar counter were covered with porcelain tiles that imitate stone.
To divide the space and also create private sectors, laser-cut wooden muxarabiles function as doors and screens and, combined with the lighting design, create a game of shadows and shapes on the black floor. Also noteworthy is the realistic photography by Colombian Adriana Duque.
