To unite environments without damaging the walls of the Jockey Club of São Paulo, listed by the National Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage (IPHAN), Clariça Lima, a newcomer at
CASACOR São Paulo 2017 , faced a great challenge when creating the
Jardim dos Terraços , an environment sectioned that joins other spaces.
The project's proposal was to bring the building's original walls to life and also blend in with the spaces that also share the same area. The garden unites
Espaço Baccarat by Jayme Bernardo,
Estúdio Le Salon by Luis Otavio Debeus,
Estúdio+5 by TRiART Architecture and the
Flat by Artis Design +. All of them are enveloped by four 16 m flowerbeds and three vertical gardens measuring almost 2.5 m high and over 4 m wide.
As a solution to protect the historical heritage, Clariça chose to create porticos with metalwork and meshes of different thicknesses that include clay pots and semi-arid plants such as elliptical ripsalis, macaroni cacti and May flower. "I used the walls between the flowerbeds to make three vertical gardens that break away from traditional models. The structure allows for play among the pots with plants, which change the design of the panel as they are relocated. My idea is to show that this type of garden can have an infinite number of possibilities and can be adjusted to the space , indoor or outdoor area, with a huge variety of plants” explains the professional.
Clariça often travels internationally and was inspired to create the
Terrace Garden . The concept comes from places like New Zealand and the Atacama Desert, where the vegetation and plants are semi-arid, resulting in a garden that requires little maintenance. and water. Vases with ornamental plants such as jasmine mango and jabuticaba tree compose with cachepots of red grass. One of the highlights is the lighting, a partnership made with Sandra Araújo, from Archluce, which composes the nighttime scene in the garden, highlighting and even more life to the wires.
