CASACOR SC: transience and kinesis guide Marcelo Salum in Sala Kidron

CASACOR Santa Catarina 2018 , which runs until November 25, is made up of 25 spaces designed by 40 professionals. Among them is the Kidron Room , by Marcelo Salum, who also designed the Loft Alguma Coisa Acontece no Meu Coração , at the São Paulo show. . In Florianópolis, Salum explores the nomadic concept in the 60 m² space, through the movement of displacement. "This concept comes from the word nomad itself, which means that the character has no fixed address and is constantly moving from place to place. I make an analogy with nature itself. human being that is always in movement, expanding and contracting. Bringing this term to architecture we can say that what is solid dissolves into the air, transforms into another place", he explains. The eternal flow of the desert dunes is honored here. Ornamental stones – precious and semi-precious, in beige tones – cover the walls and ceiling. The limestone floor is reminiscent of sand and further reinforces the transience. Designed for a therapist who receives friends and patients, the space is intimate and welcoming. Works of art by Juliano Aguiar, Walmor Corrêa, Yuri Seródio, Lilian Mansur, Maria Helena Ferraz and Renato Dib are displayed on the walls. Sculptures by Sara Ramos , books and specific decorative objects are also present and are highlighted through indirect lighting. The nomadic theme also inspired the creation of pieces that are thrown into the space, by Frederico Cruz in partnership with the Fresa studio.
