Architects Rosane Girardi and Alcides Theiss, from the Theiss Girardi office, present solutions that can be seen in Cozinha com Afeto , a space they designed at CASACOR Santa Catarina 2018. In just 17 m², the duo lists valuable tips, especially for optimizing small spaces. To compose the layout of the kitchen, which is 2.95 m wide, the professionals opted for a central piece of furniture, in the shape of an island, which concentrates operations, preparations and where meals are also served.
"The island has everything we need to have at hand: sink with drainer, built-in dishwasher, drawers for storing pans, induction cooktop and high-performance hood. The L-shaped dining table allows people to interact. In addition, We created a steel shelf with shelves that accommodate flower pots for spices, crockery and materials for daily use", explain the professionals. Still on the functional island, two high-performance synthetic materials are combined, resistant to heat and kitchen activities. The sink makes maintenance and hygiene easier, with a built-in dish drainer. "We chose earthy tones to bring the idea of comfort to the environment", they comment.
The custom-made unit located at the back of the kitchen hides the refrigerator, freezer, accommodates the electric oven, microwave and also has niches for organizing dishes. The solution of hiding the equipment ensures visual lightness without losing the practicality that routine demands.
On the opposite wall, we opted for a geometric mosaic made of natural marble, chosen with the intention of giving the space texture and movement. "The soft gray of this material brightened up the palette of browns and beiges. On the floor, we used wood-like porcelain tiles. demolition". The kitchen gained depth with the application of bronze-colored mirror. The duo also covered the surface with a pattern. "This allows for depth without the reflection being real. It also makes cleaning easier, as we avoid the marks of fingerprints and fat", they add The décor is composed of the architects' personal collection, details that convey identity and warmth. Antique pieces and ceramic crockery reinforce the concept of affection and memories of the past, defended by the professionals in the space. Even the wooden boards report part of the memories of professionals.
