The main concern of Danielle Cortez and Natália Meyer, from the Meyer Cortez office, when designing the
Bathroom of the Senses was to create a functional, charming space that met all accessibility standards. "I am certain that this is an issue of architecture in our time: to integrate. We had to study a lot because such an important topic needs to be taken seriously so that the idea of making the Brazilian home a place where everyone can be independent can spread more and more”, says Natália. The result is a 15 m² project that marks the duo's debut at
CASACOR São Paulo 2018 .
Inspired by the five human senses, the professionals opted for textures, herbal aromas, mint candies and a
soundtrack reminiscent of the sounds of the forest.
The color palette ranges from brown to red gold, with lots of wood and green from the plants and ceiling. Nature also deserves a special mention: giving the tea trolley a new meaning, the duo used it as a support to display maidenhair ferns. , asparagus, ferns and papyrus. And the creativity doesn't stop there: the species are preserved, that is, they have undergone a chemical treatment that will leave them with a natural appearance for years, without the need for water, air and light.
Indirect lighting, mainly composed of LED strips and wall lights, creates an intimate atmosphere. On the sink wall, the geometric cladding has metallic details that also act as mirrors. Inside the cabinets, black and white photos of water droplets complete the decoration.
