The intervention by visual artist Walter Nomura, known as Tinho, addresses the relationship between man and metropolis.

Denise Barretto - Guest Space. Living room with fireplace and Italian sofas, home theater, gourmet kitchen and even a small square are integrated into 218 m². Wood and caramel bricks generate coziness, added to the 12 m² rug, from the Design collection (Kian), hung vertically like a work of art. On the floor, the porcelain tiles from Portobello Shop were laid out in rulers. This annex to the house is built with a detachable metal structure and a ceiling height of 4.3 meters, ready in two months.

Triplex Arquitetura - Designer's Loft. A look at the sophisticated simplicity of Scandinavian design. The project by Adriana Helu, Carolina Oliveira and Marina Torre Lobo, by doing away with excess, is more welcoming. The wood covers the floor to the ceiling, with Accoya lining, a type of acetylation, which makes the material strong, resistant and durable. The metal partition with translucent screens, developed in partnership with Uniflex Cidade Jardim, provides privacy to the suite.

Ricardo Bello Dias - Poetry of Space. The installation by architect Ricardo Bello Dias recalls the teachings of writer Italo Calvino. Behind the floor-to-ceiling glass panel, there is a staircase. The protection makes it clear: this is not an invitation to climb. At least not literally. Suspended by steel cables, the wooden planks that make up the steps seem to float, and thanks to a trick of perspective – the higher steps get smaller and smaller – anyone looking at the installation from the front has the sensation that it leads to infinity. “In his Six Proposals for the Next Millennium, Calvino reflects on literary creation. But the teachings also apply to architecture and any other area of knowledge. I tried to offer these tools of interpretation to visitors”, explains Ricardo.

Triart Arquitetura - Studio +55. Dedicated to design and contemporary Brazilian art, the 38 m² space has a young DNA. Designed for a resident who prioritizes practicality, the box in shades of bluish green that houses the bed, closet and bath stands out. This color palette is a bet by the office led by André Bacalov, Kika Mattos and Marcela Penteado, in order to bring nature into the interior of the house. The space also features a 28 m² balcony, transformed into a continuation of the living area. Another highlight is the lighting, made with exposed wires that run from the ceiling to the wall.

CASACOR São Paulo 2017 reaches its 31st edition and opens its doors between May 23 and July 23 at the Jockey Club of São Paulo. The 69 projects , distributed across 15,673 m², range from houses, lofts , lounges, living rooms, bathrooms, studios, apartments and gardens, in addition to the Chef's House , where events, workshops and meetings focused on excellent gastronomy will take place.

Although diverse, the spaces have elements in common. One of them, and perhaps the main one, is the focus on the essential . The premise is translated into unpretentious materials and straight and curved lines that dispense with any excess. Without purism, it showcases the natural beauty of marble and other stones, wood and concrete. Several structures simplify assembly, saving time and natural resources.

The color palette may seem austere, with denser colors and black without compromises, but at the same time the tones win preference - greenery and other greens, dry pink and shades of blue bring a touch of past decades. In fact, the art deco style, which defines the Jockey's architecture, is also celebrated in the graphics and metallic details in bronze and gold that the eye will find along the way.

The search for the essential is also revealed in the various spaces that imitate cabins and urban refuges, as well as nooks and crannies for socializing and carrying out several activities at the same time. Bia Abreu - Renault Glass House Garden. Armchairs, a table with a fireplace and lots of greenery bring this refuge to life. The species chosen include ferns, lambaris, asparagus and bridal veils. Jabuticabeira and palm trees add a tropical touch to this “mini forest”.

David Bastos - Ornare Experience. The master bedroom was combined with the dressing area to create a place for socializing. The color palette is cozy and the lighting is soft. The closet is warmed by leather panels and carpeted flooring, with sensory appeal.

Paola Ribeiro - Casa Cosmopolita Cosentino. Pivoting wooden sunshades surround the house, but allow the landscape and natural light to shine through. Green also punctuates the 180 m² space, which combines neutral tones with the personality of pink and wine.
