After visiting places as diverse as the stands of the Gávea Jockey Club, the Modesto Leal and Linneo de Paula Machado mansions, the building of the former Hotel Sete de Setembro and the entire Villa Aymoré,
CASACOR Rio returns to… home. The exhibition transforms the eclectic style property known as
the “pink house” belonging to the Rocha Miranda family . For almost 40 years, the residence in Gávea was a place to receive friends for great celebrations - all to do with
CASACOR 's 30th anniversary celebration. The new hosts of this party are
67 of the best professionals from Rio, who created
45 environments located in the
1,000 m² of built area or on the
5,000 m² plot, partly occupied by the huge garden designed by Burle Marx. Although very traditional, the house served as the basis for projects that express the current style of living in Rio, with solutions tailored to real life - concerns such as reduced spaces, sustainability and practicality are the order of the day.
Ten trends Some key ideas highlight the diversity of projects. The use of every square centimeter is fundamental, in spaces of just 8 or 10 m², in addition to investing in new construction methods, with bamboo, wood and glass, in transportable and more sustainable houses. Dynamic life still requires multifunctional environments. Another requirement is spaces with sensorial appeal, which inspire contemplation and tranquility, in the old fashioned way. In fact, this is a time for gardens and being outdoors, focusing on the modernist inspiration of master Burle Marx. Which doesn't mean that technology has left the scene. It allows you to wander around environments in other ways, with features such as virtual reality or climate and lighting control. In terms of style, the big bet was the balanced contrast between classic and contemporary. Minimalism also brings a breath of air to spaces, valuing voids and layouts with few good elements. Another concept to keep an eye on is the industrial footprint, but with a welcome touch of metallics, which could not be missing from this party.
