Vera Velarde designs the
Urban Refuge at
CASACOR Peru 2018 , with the proposal of a complete residence, where even close to the city center, the resident can have a place to rest in contact with nature.
The 90 m² loft accommodates a living room, kitchen with dining room, a bedroom with bathroom, all in an integrated and fluid way, delimiting private areas and connecting the common areas.
To bring nature into the space, the architect makes extensive use of glass, which also allows for natural lighting and better use of light. In the coverings, the professional works with different materials with different cutouts, with the aim of awakening sensations. Highlight for the geometry used in the project's lines and curves.
One of the highlights of the space is the bathroom, which basically reflects the project's proposal: a place to take refuge, recharge your batteries and relax. The space has a generous bathtub, surrounded by lush vegetation, which takes the user to the jungle. . The bathroom style is inspired by industrial and tropical minimalist trends.
“A house surrounded by lots of vegetation, which brings warmth to the environment and contact with nature, allowing you to disconnect from the outside world,” explains the professional.
