CASACOR Peru , which for the past 21 years has taken on the task of restoring local architectural gems with each edition. This year could not be different:
Casa Mujica and
Casa Paz Soldán , in the center of the capital
Lima , were the venues chosen and cleaned up by the
50 participating professionals . The first, built at the beginning of the 20th century, houses
18 rooms with a contemporary and innovative essence; the second, just a few meters away, is even older and dates back to the 15th century, during the Spanish colonization period. In it,
14 rooms offer a unique experience, by superimposing layers of time and style. Courtyards, halls, private kitchens and other structures reveal ancient ways of living. They are given a new twist with materials, colors and designs that span several eras, from the aristocratic French neoclassical to minimalism and industrialism, including the charming 1950s and 1960s along the way. There is also no shortage of references to Peruvian traditions in craftsmanship and the presence of wood - the raw material has been a favorite for centuries and transforms before the eyes of visitors. This combination seems unlikely, but it makes perfect sense in these projects that narrate a present past, as you can see in the image gallery above!
