Thinking that the owner of the space would be an urban man who loves to entertain guests at home, the duo chose to build the walls with concrete blocks, giving an industrial and cosmopolitan touch to the décor. The living room has a reading area and another for TV, as well as a mini kitchen, capable of meeting the demands of happy hour and small parties. The furniture and wood paneling reinforce the industrial feel, but the yellow of the lacquered ceiling makes everything more relaxed. In the decoration, the new Renault Duster Oroch pickup truck, the official car of the show, takes center stage. “It was positioned one level above the floor, to be admired while guests taste artisanal drinks, listen to music on vinyl records and discuss gastronomy, philosophy and regional culture in the lounge, which is right next door,” says the architect. A 40-square-meter garden completes the space, with rustic plants from the Northeast region, including some experimental species from a study by Embrapa. The vegetation appears inside specimens of the Safe Hanger, created by designer Mauricio Arruda exclusively for the Garagem de Estar project, at the invitation of Renault. It is a plastic vase held together by two reused seat belt straps, in which it is possible to assemble various arrangements with plants. The outdoor area also has a solarium, installed next to a century-old tree, and a space to relax on the Safe Puff, another work by Arruda. Everything was designed to provide comfort and well-being to the resident without neglecting sustainability.
