One of the challenges proposed by CASACOR São Paulo this year was to refurbish one of the original houses in the architectural complex of the Jockey Club of São Paulo, listed as a historical heritage site. To this end, architects Gabriela Lotufo and Larissa Oliveira, winners of the Sustainable Home Challenge , proposed a project, curated by Inovatech Engenharia, to inspire the public to seek a more sustainable décor.

The maximum use was made of the 85 of the house, giving the idea of a complete home. The place has an access hall, kitchen integrated with the living and dining room, single bedroom, office, master bedroom, dog, space for reading and introspection, integrated bathroom with service area, workshop and outdoor living area with a vegetable garden.

The professionals thought, first of all, not only about the sustainable elements imposed on the project, but also about the habits of the resident, proposing some attitudes that influence their daily lives. It is worth highlighting the shoe rack in the entrance hall of the house. Behind this simple gesture , there is a big impact. By leaving your shoes on before entering the house, you do not bring dust into the house, contributing to the reduction of resources such as energy, water and cleaning products used for maintenance.

Another suggested habit is the vegetable garden, which in addition to allowing the production of organic food, contact with nature stimulates thinking about food waste, contributing to greater awareness on the subject . The consumption of bulk products to reduce the amount of packaging consumed and storage in glass jars are also issues addressed.

The solutions designed include lightweight photovoltaic panels, landscaping with a vegetable garden and plant species in self-watering pots, with low water consumption, and the wall of hollow cobogós elements that contribute to the efficient passive and active use of external natural resources. Maintaining existing windows ensures the entry of light, air exchange and cross ventilation.

The deck and access ramps to the house, made of plastic wood and with non-slip grooves, carry with them the commitment to accessibility and the reuse of materials after the event is over.

Among the internal solutions, the proposal is the flexibility of space occupation, use of technologies without excess, furniture that is easy to assemble and disassemble, materials that can be reused and/or recycled and adaptation of the artificial lighting system with LED.
