CASA COR RN displays garage with pickup truck, design and energy savings

The Renault Garage designed by architect Zandra Caldas at CASA COR Rio Grande do Norte 2015 occupies an area of 60 m². The space, with very few walls, is integrated into a pleasant garden, punctuated by an existing brazilwood tree and phoenix palm trees. With the intention of designing a place that would make the car the protagonist and not just a simple parking lot, Zandra explains: “I imagined a resident who likes to drive a fancy car, enjoys off-road adventures and also has good taste to consider his car a design piece, which can be placed next to furniture and objects by other famous names, such as the Campana brothers”. The garage is basically divided into two parts, named by the architect as the car contemplation area, where the Duster Oroch pickup truck, a new Renault product, is positioned; and the living area, where the resident receives friends to exchange experiences and plan new adventures on the road.

At the entrance to the garage, the Campana brothers' bench invites visitors to stop and admire the vehicle. And in the social area, armchairs, flowers and other decorative objects welcome guests and make them feel at ease to chat leisurely, also in the company of the pickup truck. To keep up with the Duster Oroch's modern technology, the architect created automation, lighting and sound systems for the garage powered by solar panels installed on the roof.
