Bar faces the city skyline at CASACOR SP meeting point
When architect Eduardo Correia toured the space he would develop for CASACOR São Paulo for the first time, he thought: “Arriving outside, I wanted to take advantage of the view and decided to create a bar”. The view of the city's skyline was the starting point for the Jockey Bar, a new project at the exhibition. After all, for once the stands in front of the hippodrome receive a space like this, which has become one of the exhibition's meeting points. With a length of 13 meters, the bar counter guides the flow of visitors and houses a lighting piece designed exclusively by the architect. It was built in three accommodation modules, including a lower part accessible to wheelchair users. The space features a set of stools created by Giacomo Tomazzi, called Jockey, thrown into the environment. Internally, the shape of the 50 m² space resembles a rectified river - a clear reference to what happened to the Pinheiros River, transformed by urban growth a few kilometers away. The natural fiber carpet represents the devastated margins. The panel with demolition peroba logs was built by hand. He receives the series from photographer Denilson Machado, who reframes abandoned places with colorful balloons. The vintage crystal lamp refers to the glamor of the Jockey Clube de São Paulo, headquarters of the exhibition. The Wiggle chair is a Frank Gehry classic. The engraving is by Alfredo Volpi. The geometric portico directs the eye and connects the internal and external environments, balancing wooden sheets of varying heights. The set gains an even more sculptural effect with the lighting work. In addition to a place to socialize and watch the sunset - which is among the most beautiful in São Paulo -, Bar do Jockey makes you reflect on a part of the city that is crossed by the Pinheiros River. With an artistic and delicate look, the professional sought to reflect on the city's impacts on the environment. The Jockey Bar is open throughout the exhibition period, from May 28th to August 4th, from Tuesday to Saturday, from 12pm to 9pm and on Sundays, from 12pm to 8pm. CASACOR SÃO PAULO 2019: WHEN?
