CASACOR Rio de Janeiro. Cabinet of Curiosities - Patricia Fendt. The environment portrays a collector in the areas of biology and human achievements. In the 56 m² lounge, there is a large grandstand with Girafa stools by Lina Bo Bardi and shelves full of books and curious artifacts. In the other area of the space, a central L-shaped sofa − large and backless − and a telescope where visitors can enjoy the view and explore the city.

The professionals designed the Cosmopolitan Loft with the aim of creating a space that would be perfect for any part of the world. With a clean and elegant design, the space without walls has a bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom. Highlights include the Isay sofa by Isay Weinfeld, the 3 Pés armchair by Lina Bo Bardi and the Oscar chair by Sérgio Rodrigues.

CASACOR São Paulo. Marina Linhares - Beach House. White and shades of blue bring a touch of the sea and summer, in perfect harmony with the natural tones of the wood and straw. Cane furniture, like that used in the English colonies in the Caribbean, was designed by Armando Cerello. In the kitchen, Ornare cabinets with an industrial style interact with ceramic tiles from Decortiles, in a 1970s style. In the bedroom, the LBB desk by Lina Bo Bardi is the highlight.

Designed for a resident who prioritizes practicality, the box in shades of bluish green that houses the bed, closet and bath stands out. Highlights include the lighting, made with exposed wires that run from the ceiling to the wall, and the famous Giraffe Chair, a playful yet casual piece.

The Italian-born, Brazilian-at-heart architect and designer Lina Bo Bardi is undoubtedly one of the leading figures of the modernist movement. From her large-scale works to her small wall lamps, her clean, light style shines through and charms everyone.

For this reason, furniture pieces designed by Lina are highly sought-after items in decoration. At the CASACOR 2017 exhibitions, they were the choice of several professionals.

Learn a little about Lina Bo Bardi's furniture below:

Bowl Armchair

Created in conjunction with Marcelo Ferraz and Marcelo Suzuki, Girafa was conceived as a restaurant chair. Following the simplicity of Lina's design, this chair allows for spiral stacking and was originally made from Paraná Pine wood. The name comes from the height of the “T” shaped backrest.

Three-legged armchair

Launched in the early 1950s, this armchair unites several “Brazils” with which Lina interacted. The loose and light leather part alludes to indigenous hammocks, while the metal structure represents industrial progress and mass production.

LBB Desk

The desk legs form an “x” shape to support the top of the table, made of caviúna, without losing its lightness. Lina created this piece in 1949.
