Brazilianness stamped on CASA COR RN 2015

With over 40 days, CASA COR Rio Grande do Norte 2015 brought a genuinely Brazilian atmosphere to the home of Luiz da Câmara Cascudo, who always valued and taught the people of Rio Grande do Norte to revere people, cultures and nationality in their most varied forms. Delighting in the theme “Brazilianness, less is better and sharing”, the show brought together in 30 spaces, designed by over 50 architects, the delicacies, colors and shapes of an authentic Brazil, full of personality.

Throughout the exhibition it was possible to identify a piece of the country, of the culture of a people, printed on a piece of furniture, a covering, on the floor, in the lighting and in the decoration.

In some spaces, for example, in Avarandado , designed by Olga Portela, delicacy and cultural references merge in the nest-shaped armchairs. “The Goa armchair by Saccaro, created by the company’s team of designers, portrays the Brazilian atmosphere with the use of natural fiber. The steel structure, malacca and leather straps bring simple lines and organic shapes that guarantee the composition of the space”, explains Olga.

In the Jardim em Cordel , inspired by the works of historian Câmara Cascudo and designed by architect Anaceli Vieira and landscapers Fabíola Breda and Patrícia Diniz, harmonious forms come together with art, culture and the dissemination of popular traditions in Rio Grande do Norte.

Just like in Jardim em Cordel, migrating to the “Brazilianness of the Northeast”, Joyce Stela and Leonardo Dias highlighted details of the Northeastern backlands in the Dining Room through panels and paintings.

Works by national artists such as Tarsila do Amaral and Di Cavalcanti are also on display at the MOSTRA, which is the case of the Living Room by architect Renato Teles. In addition to the presence of these artists, it is possible to find strong ethnic and miscegenation traits. With furniture taken from Brazilian history, from technical mining, designed by Roque Frizzo, there is the 'Serra Pelada' table by Saccaro. "It is an iconic piece, which records the hole left by the extraction of minerals, made from a topographical survey of the gold rush experienced in the country in the mid-1980s", explained Renato Teles.
