Wood is very versatile and its use brings many characteristics to spaces, such as a feeling of warmth, comfort and life. With all the possibilities that the material offers, the professionals at CASA COR Minas Gerais 2015 used and abused the covering in various points of their environments. 2-CASACORMG_MADEIRA In the Public Bathroom and Small Room , designed by architects Bruno Vianna and Ivana Seabra, the raw wood was used in its original state. “The solid freijó wood sideboard and the bathroom doors, made of MDF, were left with the nuances of the wood in evidence. The intention was to highlight the natural characteristics of the wood, such as color, appearance of the fibers and knots,” the professionals state. 1-CASACORMG_MADEIRA To make the Dining Room and Wine Cellar more refined, interior designer Laura Santos chose several wood tones to decorate the space. “To pay homage to wood, which was my greatest source of inspiration, I worked with different tones of the material. In the Pau Ferro buffet, on the Oak and Patinated wood table, in the wine cellar with Walnut details and on the floor with Peroba Dourada: in every detail, the wood ennobles the space”, she lists.
In the living room designed by interior designer Melina Mundim, wood appears in the structure of the space, a eucalyptus pergola. The material also appears as a floor covering and on the coffee tables, made from wood trunks. “The living room has a farmhouse feel with a contemporary twist. And there’s nothing better than a wooden structure to convey this idea. My choices were intended to create a space where rusticity and refinement blend harmoniously,” explains the architect. 3-CASACORMG_MADEIRA Tree logs also look great in environments, as did the one by Óbvio Arquitetura, Nathália Otoni and Luciana Araújo - Cozinha Gourmet - who used the material as the base of the table. “The tree log that serves as the leg of the dining table is a piece that was developed especially for the event and is over 200 years old. In addition to matching the outdoor area very well, it is a standout element for bringing a bit of nature into the space”, they explain. COLOR HOUSE MINAS GERAIS 2015 When?
