13 shelves from CASACOR 2016 that are the soul of the spaces

The backlit bookshelf houses books specially covered to match the décor. Three decades of CASA COR and the same length of the architect's career are celebrated in the space that harks back to the 1930s. More precisely, the era of French designer Jean-Michel Frank and even artist Salvador Dalí, who designed a chair in the space. With his partner Ricardo Minelli, Minotto worked with nude tones, especially on the parchment-covered walls. Some of them also display works by the duo EMME2. The bookcase carved from the same material as the walls highlights the carefully selected objects. Two choices guide the project: walls covered with wood panels and camouflaged furniture, such as kitchen cabinets, dining room shelves and the home office desk. The duo bet on the selection of objects and art books, displayed on the shelf with 30 lacquer niches designed by the duo. Fernanda Tegacini, Fernanda Morais and Nathalia Mouro chose the bookcase as the central element of the project. The piece, made of American wood in a brown tone, adds movement by alternating between full and empty niches. The room combines a library, office and space to celebrate with friends, as this year's theme at CASA COR dictates. In the office, the dialogue is rich between the Svolta desk, from Empório Beraldi, and the 19th-century English chair, from Arnaldo Danemberg Antiquário. The refrigerator was replaced by a shelf in which boxes refrigerate food individually. The Corian countertop solves the space by functioning as a cabinet and hiding the sink and washing machine. The stainless steel table innovates with the induction cooking system, which eliminates the use of a stove and gives the appropriate look to the space, which is a hybrid of kitchen and living room. Enhanced by the Coral blue tone of the walls and the generous bookshelf in the same color, comfort is a priority. The space is multipurpose and designed for long stays. CASACOR Rio de Janeiro 2016. Roca Estar - Carlos Carvalho and Rodrigo Beze. A young space can be luxurious, according to Studio Ro+Ca. They invest in the combination of new and old, especially the 1920s, and focus on sophisticated textures like the velvet sofa by Marcus Ferreira, from Decameron. Or in the wallpaper that reproduces caramel leather and covers the bookshelf, framed by an illuminated membrane. Another highlight is the Vivi chair, by Sergio Rodrigues, created by designer Fernando Mendes.

The straight lines and large spans are inspired by Bauhaus, in this project that also pays homage to the school in the use of steel, wood and glass that allows for abundant natural lighting. The contemporary furniture by Claudia Moreira Salles - which includes the Deslize coffee table - meets the modernist pieces by Flávio de Carvalho in the ambiance. Another highlight is the launch of the mixer designed by Jader Almeida for Deca.

At CASACOR São Paulo 2016 , Nelson Amorim and Roberto Cimino designed the Hall and Library for the entrance to the building of the former Jockey Club Outpatient Clinic. The two shelves in the space were created to wrap around two pillars of the original building. Each had four sides made of waxed ebonized frejo wood. The duo selected books, objects, paintings, and crafts and combined them to create aesthetic balance. The lighting is indirect and was done with LED strips. "A shelf is where you display things of personal taste for easy access, objects of emotional value that are in visual contact with you every day.
