Agenda cultural de agosto

Agenda cultural de agosto (Divulgação)

São Paulo has its own way of turning into August: the city cools down, the cultural agenda heats up, and suddenly there is more to see, feel and discover than there are available hours in the week. This month, the program brings together exhibitions that traverse immigration, Brazilian identity and textile art; shows that range from legal drama to Cirque du Soleil; and films that intelligently mix genres. For those who believe that culture is also a way of inhabiting the city with more presence, August offers plenty of reasons to leave home. Check out the highlights of the program!

Exhibitions

Assim Bordei Meus Sonhos

Margarida Pandolfo, mother of the graffiti artists OSGEMEOS, exhibits crochets, embroideries and paintings with fabric scraps that reconstruct the cultural legacy passed down by generations of immigrants who arrived in São Paulo. The exhibition is part of the celebrations of the centenary of Lithuanian immigration in Brazil and the 7th edition of the Labas Festival. The curatorship is signed by OSGEMEOS themselves, Adriana P. Alves and Arnaldo Pandolfo — and the result is a collective, affective and profoundly Brazilian work.
