A very clear starting point and a sharp challenge: to create a home with unique identity based on references that the resident himself — also an architect — already admired. Signed by architect Vanessa Martins, from the Sala2 Arquitetura office and part of the CASACOR São Paulo lineup, this 120 sqm apartment in Vila Olímpia, São Paulo, was born from the unification of two units purchased still in the blueprint phase.

The initial concept was to create a young and versatile retreat, capable of integrating the resident's daily life and, at the same time, offering privacy and autonomy for when his parents came from Brasília to visit him. During the process, the space also adapted to accommodate the new routine of the owner, who got engaged and started sharing the home with his wife.

The great guiding thread of the project is the cabinetry with striking presence. The natural oak veneer tinted blue, an element desired by the client since the first meetings, stars in the social area without weighing down the visual. To ensure authenticity and avoid the repetition of formulas, the color shares the stage with panels of concave slats and natural-toned oak curves, which embrace the rooms and give movement to the circulation.

The transition between the two former apartments is finished by an imposing portico in the entrance hall, eliminating any sense of artificial division. In the distribution of flows, one of the units concentrated the main social and intimate life, with hall, powder room, kitchen, dining room and the master suite. The second module houses the TV room, a support pantry designed for the independence of guests, the guest suite and the balcony.

The selection of materials favors the dialogue between textures and natural elements. The social area receives neutral porcelain tile on the floor and walls with textural finish, in addition to noble tables and countertops: Woodstone shines on the dining table, Dekton composes the kitchen island and Blue Deep quartz extends the signature tone of the wood to the powder room countertop.

In the intimate area, the European oak floor brings warmth to the suites, finished with leather upholstered headboards and a master bathroom clad in Michelangelo Nuvolato Marble.

Despite the fine-tuned harmony in the layout development, the execution required technical precision in adapting the infrastructure. Located in a building with mixed hotel operations, the project overcame the challenge of fully adapting and preserving the mandatory building system of sprinklers and smoke detectors, resulting in a contemporary, fluid, and fully integrated apartment.
