Signed by architect Rafaela Marrocos, from the Rafaela Marrocos Arquitetura e Interiores studio and part of the CASACOR Ceará lineup, the interior design project for this 355 sqm duplex house combines contemporary Brazilian style with the functionality of everyday family life.

Located in a gated community in Eusébio, in Cidade Alpha, Ceará, the residence was purchased ready-made by a couple of entrepreneurs with two daughters — the clients' first contact with the professional took place during CASACOR Ceará 2024, an edition in which Rafaela won first place in the Sustainable Architecture category.

Since the architecture was already defined, the interventions focused on the interiors, without significant structural changes to the original floor plan. Specific layout adjustments optimized circulation, expanded visual connections and favored the integration between the projects.

The review of finishes also included the strategic replacement of stones and coverings. On the ground floor, the social area brings together the living and dining room, powder room, gourmet balcony and kitchen — which can be opened or isolated from the other spaces. On the upper floor are the master suite with closet and the two daughters' suites.

The setting is inspired by contemporary Brazilian architecture, prioritizing the dialogue between wood, natural stones and signature design. The light tone of the existing porcelain tile serves as a backdrop for a palette composed of nuances of white, beige and sand, warmed by the woodwork and specific details in matte black and earthy tones.

Pieces from the residents' sentimental collection were preserved and combined with new acquisitions, while artworks by national and international artists introduce points of color into the decor.

In the furniture of the social area and integrated kitchen, pieces signed by major names in Brazilian design stand out, selected based on criteria of proportion, comfort, and materiality. This is the case of the Caju armchair by Roberta Banqueri — which combines swivel and rocking motions in its structure —, the glass coffee table by Giacomo Tomazzi, and the Alba chairs by Jader Almeida.

The bespoke carpentry blends ironwood, matte black, and matte beige to define visual planes without breaking the continuity of the spaces. On the gourmet balcony, the furniture joins natural textures and elements to create a welcoming projects focused on togetherness.
