Set on a natural plateau and framed by two imposing Jacaré trees, this residence in Araras (RJ) had its architectural design entirely guided by the view of the mountains. Signed by architect Andrea Chicharo (from the CASACOR Rio de Janeiro lineup), the property was designed to integrate smoothly with the topography, ensuring that the construction would not disturb the surrounding landscape. In this way, the panoramic view of the greenery is present in each of the five bedrooms and throughout the social area.

Distributed in blocks arranged on different levels, the house belongs to a mother and her two young children. The family's three bedrooms occupy the second floor and keep the wood paneling of the roof fully exposed, highlighting the original architecture without the use of plaster ceilings to hide the structure.

The first floor concentrates the two guest suites and the entire living area of the house. Arranged in a straight line and fully integrated, the living room, barbecue area and veranda face the Serra and feature sliding doors that recess into the walls, allowing the spaces to be joined or separated with ease.

Andrea Chicharo highlights that the flexibility of the social area is the project's great asset, as it allows a lively group to enjoy the barbecue area and the pool without interfering with the tranquility of those who prefer to watch television in the living room.

In the décor, the project establishes a balance between the rustic essence typical of country houses and contemporary design, guided by the use of neutral tones and materials such as cement, steel and wood. Cumaru wood lines the steps of the floating staircase in the entrance hall, the floors of the bedrooms, the bathrooms and the wood paneling of the dining room, while peroba-mica was the choice for most of the window and door frames, and stone covers sections of the façade.

Exposed concrete dominates almost the entire ceiling of the social area and reappears on the floor, walls and fixed elements, such as the living room rack and the bench designed within the large window that connects the barbecue area to the pool.

To complete the space, which also features a steel and glass annex, the furniture combines rustic pieces with design icons, such as the classic Charles Eames armchair upholstered in cowhide and the Clip bookcase, designed by Jader Almeida, which introduces a striking pop of color to the projects.
