A true temple of well-being dedicated to relaxation and a deep connection with nature. This is the Casa Toscana, a leisure retreat designed by the firm Deborah Roig Arquitetos Associados – part of the CASACOR São Paulo lineup – on a 7,000 m² plot in Bragança Paulista, in the countryside of São Paulo.

Conceived to slow down the pace of everyday life, the 1,100 m² built-area property belongs to a Brazilian entrepreneur with businesses in Italy, who decided to transform an existing modest house into a residence entirely devoted to leisure, comfort and family moments. The project promoted a complete renovation of the building, creating larger, integrated spaces fully open to the landscape.

Passionate about sports and outdoor activities, the family set aside a generous space to build a private wellness club, with a complete gym, meditation room, spa and glass-enclosed sauna. Gathered in a single building facing reflecting pools and the swimming pool, these projects make up an entire wing dedicated to self-care.

The proposal also includes generous areas for gatherings and outdoor stays, such as the sunken fire pit — a charming lowered lounge around the fireplace — and the dining area laid out over gravel, protected by an elegant pergola that invites long Sunday lunches.

Inspired by the Italian region that gives it its name, a wish expressed by the owners from the very first sketches, the work incorporates traditional elements reinterpreted through a contemporary language. Natural materials, such as stone and wood, large openings, an abundance of natural light and a soft palette help build a welcoming, sophisticated and timeless atmosphere that dialogues directly with the principles of biophilic architecture.

The fluidity between indoors and outdoors was one of the premises of the architectural approach, reflected in the natural connection of the social areas with the gardens and leisure structures. At the same time, the generous scale of the plot allowed the creation of different wings, each with its own identity, but unified by the same architectural identity.
