Located in Geribá, one of the most iconic spots in Armação dos Búzios (RJ), a beach house of 274 sqm was reborn to become the private retreat of architect Bianca Sieberer (from the CASACOR Rio de Janeiro lineup) and her family. Acquired in 2023, the residence underwent a complete renovation led by the professional herself, who took on the challenge of updating the spaces for a new phase of use, without erasing the original architectural identity and the affective memories that connect the family to the place.

Surrounded by lush vegetation and favored by generous natural ventilation, the house kept the structural elements that define its personality, such as the exposed wooden skeleton and the wide frames, essential to channel the sea breeze through the projects and weave a fluid relationship with the garden. The main intervention focused on expanding the living areas. To this end, the integration between the social areas was reinforced and a new and complete leisure area was created, incorporating a pool, sauna and a gourmet space strategically planned to welcome friends and family with maximum comfort.

According to the architect, the proposal sought to preserve the existing structure and its original materials, adding contemporary solutions that would make the projects more comfortable and functional, while maintaining the relaxed essence of the house. The concept was born precisely from this intimate relationship with the coastal surroundings, resulting in spaces that encourage gathering, but that also reserve areas dedicated to rest and contemplation.

Inside, the palette of materials reflects the calm of the beach through neutral tones, stones and natural fibers. One of the great achievements of the project was to soften the visual impact of the dark wood, predominant in the original construction. To bring luminosity and lightness, Bianca adopted light finishes, joinery in natural freijó veneer and clad the gourmet area with Perla Santana quartzite. In the kitchen, white takes center stage on the coverings, cabinets and ceiling, creating a timeless and sunny atmosphere. In the living room, the large openings enhance the natural light and the visual continuity with the landscaping, a dynamic boosted by a central skylight that bathes the projects during the day.

The furniture curation exalts Brazilian signature design and Brazilian art. Among the choices, established pieces stand out such as the Paraty armchair, by Sergio Rodrigues, and the Pitu, by Aristeu Pires, in addition to the Pompeia dining table, designed by Jayme Bernardo. The walls and niches come to life with works by artists Noemi Carpu and Erika Castro, which harmoniously dialogue with personal objects that have accompanied the architect for years.
