At 307 sqm, this apartment in Salvador designed by architects Anna Fernandes, Guido Ramos and Marcelo Bezerril, from GAM Arquitetos studio (and part of the CASACOR Bahia lineup), was entirely redesigned to become the Bahian retreat of a Hispanic-Brazilian couple. Living abroad, the owners were looking for a vibrant yet cozy gathering spot to experience the city's energy during vacations and, especially, Carnival.

The challenge of the complete interior and layout intervention was to translate the cultural connection into fluid architecture, capable of integrating Bahian charm with the practicality needed for a second home designed for entertaining.

To achieve the desired atmosphere, the spatial reconfiguration started from a clear guideline: open the apartment to the landscape and transform the social area into a private box overlooking the Atlantic. The boundaries between living, dining room and balcony were dissolved, keeping the perimeter of the frames completely free so that natural light and the blue of the ocean could flood every corner.

Designed for social interaction, the huge balcony of over 54 sqm gained a custom bar, meeting the resident's expressed desire to create a focal point for preparing drinks and moments of celebration with friends and family. On the opposite side, the kitchen was reorganized to offer a smooth transition between the intimate routine — with a practical pantry for quick meals — and the visual integration with the social wing.

The poetics of the project is manifested in the choice of materials, colors and pieces that value local craftsmanship. The palette of neutral tones, blues and organic textures dialogues directly with the coastline framing the windows, while cross ventilation ensures thermal comfort through the smart use of louvered doors and hollow elements.

The affective narrative gains even more strength with the art curation, which highlights Bahian production. Original works and pieces signed by ceramist Hilda Salomão, by Jota Cunha and by Arthur Fraga enrich the projects with Brazilian character and authentic sophistication.

In the private wing, the care for the hospitality experience is repeated in each of the three guest suites, designed to ensure coziness and autonomy for visitors. The master suite, with nearly 35 m², works as a true sanctuary of slowing down. In it, the arrangement of the furniture enhances rest and contemplation, highlighting armchairs strategically positioned by the window opening.
