Welcoming guests, with plenty of space and a warm atmosphere, was the central premise that guided the design of this 630 sqm apartment located in Itaim Bibi, São Paulo. Delivered as a bare shell, the property needed to translate the dynamic lifestyle of its new residents: a young couple with a newborn child whose main hallmark is the art of hosting, promoting weekly gatherings that bring together up to a hundred guests.

To enable receptions with live music and DJs without compromising visual fluidity, the office Navarro Arquitetura (from the CASACOR São Paulo lineup) altered the original floor plan distribution. The fusion of the former lunch room and TV room gave rise to an imposing continuous social area of 266 sqm.

The main architectural challenge was to deconstruct the corporate slab feel typical of the building's structure. The solution came through the extensive use of wooden panels and the application of tauari wood flooring, which runs throughout the apartment, ensuring tactile comfort and natural appeal.

The dialogue with the surrounding urban landscape is refined by the landscape design of Rodrigo Oliveira. The creation of indoor planters in the living room brings vegetation into the heart of the social space, creating a smooth transition that highlights and frames the height of the treetops surrounding the building.

In parallel, the materials palette was intentionally kept minimal, highlighting natural stone and select design pieces signed by prominent studios such as Decameron, Dpot, Etel, Casual Móveis, and Wentz Design.

The festive character of the property is evident in the custom-made furniture: one of the living room's highlights is the cantilevered sideboard positioned behind the dining table, which received specific structural reinforcement to safely support informal use during party nights.

A rug of monumental proportions and the minimalist lighting design complete the composition of the living room, while the electrical infrastructure was entirely redone to meet the high technological demands of the gatherings.
