Oppa, a Brazilian brand of designer furniture and accessories, will sell products from Fia {Oficina de Artesãs}, a social project supported by designer Celina Hissa, founder of Catarina Mina, and publicist Lívia Salomoni, which generates income for a community of 40 artisans from small towns in northern Ceará. Starting this month, the project's second collection will be sold in Oppa's physical stores and online. Items available include baskets, placemats and placemats.
Fia {Artisans' Workshop} creates a bridge between the production of these communities and the consumer. During the meetings, participants exchange ideas, perfect their techniques and create products. The project was initially made possible through crowdfunding. With this new way of selling and buying, the sale of products promoted financial security and new perspectives for the artisans of northern Ceará. The partnership with Oppa represents an opportunity to develop a line with a large national reach. It is the first time that the brand has sold manufactured products, seeking to demonstrate that it is possible to offer design objects at fair and affordable prices.
