NU Festival brings more color to SP through artistic interventions

Designers Bruna Vieira and João Tolentino, and architects Diego Uribbe, Duke Capellão and Rodrigo Kalache form the MUDA Collective, from Rio de Janeiro. Their interventions attempt to transform hostile urban environments through their colorful and abstract murals.

Colombian muralist Gleo uses latex paint, brushes and paint rollers to create pictorial and symbolic characters and scenes, always inspired by the colors and traditions of her country.

Artists Guilherme Neumann and Lara Alcantara live in São José dos Campos, São Paulo. They create and manufacture dolls made of wood, resin, fabric, ceramic and wax to inspire simple creativity.

Tainá Lima, better known as the graffiti artist Criola, is from Belo Horizonte, MG. She uses her graffiti as a way to express her African ancestry and as a manifestation of feminine power.

The Pinheiros neighborhood is hosting the NU Festival public art circuit for the first time, curated by Instagrafite and in partnership with Coral . Interventions, performances, talks and workshops will take place in Pinheiros from September 25th to October 8th. All events are free and broadcast live online.

The cultural action aims to rethink the city through a series of urban interventions created by some of the main names of the new generation of national public art, in addition to revitalizing public areas.

An international group of artists has been invited to participate in the Festival. Among the muralists are Gleo from Colombia, Fernando Chamarelli from Bauru and Criola from Belo Horizonte. Also present are visual artists Renan Santos from Canoa, João Lelo from Rio de Janeiro and Anne Galante from São Paulo.
