For the third consecutive year,
Melissa is participating in
Milan Design Week 2019. In partnership with Campana Crochet, the brand is once again presenting itself at the event with installations, spaces and presentations. Melissa features a two-meter-high sculpture designed by the Campana brothers, which has been covered in a crochet weave. The 110 m² area dedicated to the installation has been completely painted red.
The public will have the opportunity to interact with the texture of the work, made with more than 17 thousand PVC threads recycled from Melissa shoes and accessories. The recycled material was transformed into fabric by the union of 20 national collectives and artists, such as the NGO Projeto Arrastão, the NGO Ponto Firma and the musician Seu Jorge. The stitches used in the work are the same ones that inspired the most recent line of products from the partnership between Melissa and Irmãos Campana.
